The Boston office of the FBI is offering a significant reward for information leading to the recovery of two high-powered rifles stolen from a government car parked in Andover.
A sniper rifle and an M16 rifle were taken from the FBI SWAT emergency response car, the FBI said on Thursday.
“The FBI continues to devote significant resources to locate these weapons, determine who stole them and remove them from the possession of the unauthorized individual(s) who may have them,” the FBI said in a statement.
The government vehicle was parked in Andover overnight on Wednesday into Thursday morning. Additional items were stolen from other cars parked at nearby homes during the same time.
A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered.
