The controversy that started with Red Sox slugger David Ortiz taking a selfie with President Barack Obama possibly as part of a promotion has reached comedic proportions.

Saturday Night Live featured a sketch about the recent controversy, which appeared to be a random moment between baseball superstar and president, but was later questioned because of Ortiz’s promotional deal with Samsung. The White House answered repeated questions about the photo, taken when Obama was honoring the Red Sox for their 2014 World Series win.

During the SNL sketch, Kenan Thompson plays a jovial and food-focused Ortiz who shows off his ability to pitch products including “Bats for bats” and his apparent PSA for those who are depressed.
