A teacher at a South Jersey high school has been charged with harassing a recent graduate by text message.
Gloucester Township police allege David Clune, 34, a teacher at Timber Creek Regional High School, sent 33 flirtatious and inappropriate text messages to a 17-year-old girl between July 4 and July 8, CBSPhilly.com reports. He proposed that the two meet in the messages.
Police charged Clune, of Gloucester Township, with harassment.
Police say Clune also sent flirtatious Facebook messages to an 18-year-old former student, who declined to prosecute.
Timber Creek's Black Horse Pike Regional School District sister school Triton was rocked by a teacher-student sex scandal last year. Three teachers were charged with inappropriate relationships with students during the 2011-12 school year. All three have since accetped plea deals that will keep them out of New Jersey classrooms for the rest of their lives.
