A national sports magazine wants Bostonians to join together on Boylston Street this weekend for a cover shoot marking the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings.

The Sports Illustrated photo shoot will feature Boston Strong and will serve as the cover photo for the issue that comes out on April 16, according to the magazine.

The shoot will take place on Boylston Street near the Boston Marathon finish line at 7 a.m. Saturday. Those who show up are encouraged to wear Boston gear.

The magazine said Mayor Marty Walsh and first responders will also be present for the shoot.

“Boston Strong is a story about people, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, ordinary people doing ordinary things. SI’s creative director, Chris Hercik, believed the best way to tell this story a year later was to bring all those people, or as many as possible, into a single photo at the finish line,” said SI’smanaging editor Chris Stone told the magazine.
