Staten Island man looks for wife in Turkey

Two relatives of a Staten Island woman who disappeared abroad are flying to Turkey to try to find her.

The family of Sarai Sierra, 33, said she never arrived for her Jan. 22 flight home from Turkey.

Her husband, Steven, and brother, David Jimenez, are headed there to try and find her.

For the past few days, the family has been desperately using social media to try and find any information about her, posting fliers on Instagram, where she was a popular user, with information on her last known whereabouts.

“She has two little boys that need their mom,” her sister-in-law wrote on Instagram.

Friend Magalena Rodriguez wrote on Facebook that Sierra was planning to see the Galata Bridge the Monday before flying home.

Her passport and medical cards were in her room, Rodriguez said, but she should still have her driver’s license and iPad.

Her family members told reporters that she had kept in touch throughout her trip, but she never boarded her flight home.

The U.S. State Department, along with Turkish officials, are reportedly investigating the case.

Her family described her as 33 years old, 5-foot-2 and 110 pounds. She has brown eyes, brown hair and fair skin.

The family has also set up a site to donate to support the family’s travels.
