Cape Flyer, a summer train service running between Boston and Cape Cod, started this weekend, offering local tourists a chance to grab a cocktail and bypass traffic all the way to the beach-town destination.
Roughly 770,000 people used the service throughout the course of the four-day holiday weekend. According to a spokesman, 225,000 showed up on the first day Friday, 150 took the train on Saturday, 170 rode it Sunday and 225,000 turned out on Memorial Day.
A spokeswoman for MassDOT said service, for the most part, went off without a hitch throughout the weekend.
