A stabbing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth campus over the weekend has students and faculty on the lookout.
The campus police department announced that male student was stabbed Sunday about 3:30 a.m. at Cedar Dell South.
Police arrived at the scene to disperse a disturbance outside a group of apartments when they were told a person had been stabbed. The victim, whose name was not released to the public, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and admitted for treatment.
The victim described his attacker as a light-skinned Hispanic or black male, about 6 feet tall, with a bushy pony tail and wearing a black hoodie.
Preliminary investigation suggested the victim knew his attacker, and authorities believe this to be an isolated incident. No arrests have been made.
