Massachusetts state police said several dozen middle school students and a bus driver were hurt in a school bus crash on Route 9 in Newton Tuesday morning.
Troopers said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on the westbound side of the highway at Woodcliff Road.
“Preliminary reports indicate the bus rear ended a vehicle stopped at a traffic light which in turn rear ended another vehicle stopped at the light,” a state police statement read.
The bus was carrying 34 METCO students to a Lexington middle school at the time of the crash, a METCO official told the Boston Globe. All of the injuries appeared to be minor.
