UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as Tyrone Ferguson, 36, and has been taken into police custody.
Ferguson reportedly turned himself in to police on Tuesday night and was charged with attempted kidnapping.
ORIGINAL STORY: The suspect wanted in connection with the attempted abduction of a brother and sister near a North Philadelphia elementary school reportedly turned himself in to police earlier this morning.
The suspect's name has not been released, but he lives near Bethune Elementary School, CBS reported.
Police issued a report on the alleged attempted abduction on Monday.
According to the report, on Monday at 8:20 a.m. on the 1000 block of West Venango Street, an 8-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl, who were brother and sister, said they and a group of friends were approached by a black man about 5'6" and wearing faded/ripped blue jeans and black and blue Lebron sneakers.
The suspect allegedly told the two children to "come here" and then grabbed them. They managed to escape and reported the incident at their school.
According to reports the suspect attempted to drag the boy away by his backpack, and when his sister intervened he let go of the boy and grabbed her instead. Police said other children threw stones at the suspect and he fled.
