A Swampscott women is facing charges of attempting to run down her ex-husband's girlfriend on Tuesday night.
Kimberly English, 49, was cuffed on assault charges outside ex-husband Carl Schroeder's house, where she reportedly tried to run down his girlfriend, Anna Champagne, the Boston Herald reports.
Champagne was returning home with Schroeder and his two children at the time of the vehicular assault. Her injuries were not life-threatening, but she did suffer internal injuries and possible broken bones, according to a spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney’s Office.
English, who works as an elementary special education teacher in Lynn, pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Wednesday, claiming the damage police found on her car was from a minor traffic accident she’d had in Revere, according to the Herald.
English lost her visitation rights last week after telling her 8-year-old son she wished the other woman were dead.
Kimberly, who told the court she suffers from bipolar disorder, has been placed on leave at her teaching position.
