An 18-year-old woman was able to fend off a man who tried to drag her into his car in Queens on Sunday night.
Police said the victim was walking along 25th Avenue about 12:15 a.m. in College Point. At 126th Street, a car pulled up alongside her.
The driver of the four-door sedan allegedly asked the victim if she wanted a ride, which she declined.
Authorities said the driver then parked his car two blocks away, at the corner of 25th Avenue and 124th Street, and approached the victim, grabbing her around her waist and putting his hand over her mouth.
While being dragged toward the parked car, the woman successfully fought the suspect off.
The man then jumped in his car and fled the scene, driving northbound on 124th Street.
NYPD described the suspect as a Hispanic male, between 30 and 35 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a slim build, with a light beard and mustache as well as short, dark, spiked hair. He was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt.
Investigators also said his car had damage to the passenger side.
Police are asking anyone with information on the suspect to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit tips online.
