Temple’s Fox School of Business will begin offering the university’s first-ever massive open online course, or MOOC, in September.
The four-week, graduate-level Quantitative Methods for Business will be available to the general public for free through Blackboard.
“This graduate course will offer a broad foundation in quantitative methods so that anyone interested in business, from seasoned managers to aspiring entrepreneurs, can sharpen their skills,” said Darin Kapanjie, managing director of Fox Online and Digital Learning and academic director of the Fox Online MBA and BBA programs, in a news release.
Students will engage in weekly class activities through WebEx, collaborate on group projects and complete assignments just as if they were enrolled in Fox School’s online MBA program. WebEx allows students to work on course material on their own schedule, 24/7.
Kapanjie will teach the online class.
Those who satisfactorily complete all Quantitative Methods for Business course requirements, such as proctored exams, can earn a certificate of completion, or a course waiver if the student later chooses to enroll in any of Fox School’s MBA programs.
Temple’s Fox School online MBA program is rated 28th nationally by U.S. News and World Report.
