The Boston Public Health Commission on Friday will debut "The Halls," its first ever web series to cover the serious topics of teen relationships and violence.
Close to 200 local teens, violence prevention advocates, and community partners will fill Emerson College’s Bright Family Screening Room at the Paramount Center for an exclusive sneak peek of the new web series, which creators describe as a youth-driven project that represents a nearly year-long collaboration with local teens.
The series aims to engage youth, particularly young men, in a citywide conversation about healthy relationships and preventing dating violence.
Created in partnership with Beyond Measure Productions, the eight-part series follows a group of fictitious Boston high school students as they confront the challenges of young fatherhood, trauma, masculinity, and personal identity.
Tension begins to build in the characters’ lives and in their school’s community when one of their peers is implicated in the alleged rape of another student.
