Three more Archdiocese of Philadelphia priests who were previously accused of sexual misconduct were banned from serving public ministry, officials announced Sunday.
Rev. Joseph J. Gallagher of St. Richard's in Philadelphia, and Rev. Mark Gaspar of Our Lady of Charity Church in Delaware County, were called "unsuitable for ministry."
Msgr. Richard T. Powers, 77, of Epiphany of Our Lord in Philadelphia, was removed over claims that he sexually abused a teen 40 years ago.
Gallagher and Gaspar were named in a 2011 grand jury report.
"After reviewing all the facts ... I made the decisions I feel are right and just," Archbishop Charles Chaput said in a news release.
