Philadelphia metro areas and South Jersey could see up to seven inches of snow by the time Friday morning hits, according to meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.
The Delaware Valley will be under a winter storm warning.
According to Kline, snow is going to start Thursday afternoon and heavier snow will develop into that night and straight through until Friday morning. "It is possible that on the onset, early Thursday afternoon, it could begin as rain or a mix of rain and snow."
It should quickly turn over to snow by later Thursday afternoon, she added. It will be all snow by early Friday morning. Anywhere from three to seven inches of snow is slated to fall.
Motorists also need to worry about blowing or drifting snow, Kline added. Winds will blow from 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour.
And that's not even the last of it. Temperatures will rapidly drop Thursday night. Wild chill values will be at zero degrees.
