A chase through the streets of Trenton that reached speeds of more than 100 mph extended west across state borders and into Bucks County, police said today.|
In an attempt to evade police capture, three men accused of dealing drugs in the New Jersey capital drove their 2007 Land Rover through the city and crossed the river into Pennsylvania about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.
New Jersey State Police notified Lower Makefield authorities that the driver had disobeyed several traffic laws and was traveling into Pennsylvania at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
The three occupants temporarily lost the Makefield tail, abandoning the car and fleeing on foot, and were eventually apprehended on the front lawn of a Masonic Lodge in Oxford Valley.
On Wednesday all three were charged with flight to avoid apprehension, fleeing or attempting to elude, resisting arrest and recklessly endangering another person. All three were sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $25,000 bail, the newspaper reported.
