Two people were saved from a Mantua house fire on Saturday by Philadelphia police officers who responded to the scene.
After a fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. on the 3900 block of Aspen Street, the two officers who responded included a fire department veteran, West Philly Local reported.
Two people were trapped inside the three-story standalone house where the blaze broke out. Two other inhabitants were able to escape.
Two 16th district police officers, including the former firefighter, helped them escape the blaze.
Debris inside the home reportedly slowed firefighters, ABC reported.
One firefighter reportedly sustained a minor hand injury in the fire.
