Two killed in Bronx apartment fire

A fire tore through a Bronx apartment late Thursday night and killed two people, officials said.

The blaze broke out at about 10:45 p.m. inside the sixth floor apartment at 2700 Grand Concourse. Police officers discovered the victims, a 49-year-old male and 44-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive inside the apartment. Both were pronounced dead at area hospitals. Their names have not been released pending family notification.

The Fire Marshal will determine the cause of the fire and the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
