UPDATE: Fox 5’s Greg Kelly not on air after rape accusation

UPDATE: Greg Kelly did not appear on “Good Day New York” this morning amidst the news that the D.A.’s office is investigating him in the rape of a woman. Fox 5 declined to comment on his absence. The TV station reported on investigation, attributing the New York Times, and posted a story on its website.

Kelly’s co-anchor, Rosanna Scotto, told the NY Daily News this morning, “I love Greg. That’s all I can say.”

Greg Kelly, a local Fox news anchor and the son of Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, is at the center of an investigation after a woman named him as her rapist, according to The New York Times.

The woman told detectives she met Greg Kelly, 43, and had drinks with him at the South Street Seaport last October. The two later went to her office at a law firm in Lower Manhattan where he raped her, she said.

The woman said she remained in touch with Kelly after the incident by phone and through text messages and later told her boyfriend about the assault. He reportedly confronted the police commissioner about the incident at a public event. Commissioner Kelly told the man to write a letter.

The office of Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is investigating the case. Greg Kelly’s lawyer, Andrew Lankler, said Kelly denies the accusation and intends to fully cooperate with the investigation.
