Update: Transit Police on Tuesday arrested Miquel Velasquez, 20, of Dorchester. He is charged with unarmed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for the alleged attack.
Transit Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked and robbed a disabled man at Andrew Square MBTA bus station.
The assault, which happened around 11 p.m. Friday, was captured on surveillance video and posted on YouTube.
The video shows the suspect violently whacking another man with a cane before taking off with the walking tool. He is later seen descending stairs with a female companion. The assailant was wearing a red jacket, red hat, and blue jeans.
The victim was hit in the chest and the head, but was not seriously injured.
"We are not aware of a dispute between the suspect and the victim prior to the assault," said Superintendent-in-Chief Joseph O'Connor. "There is indication that the suspect may have been under the influence of alcohol and narcotics, which may have played a role in the attack."
It was not the first time a disabled person has been assaulted in the Transit System.
