A young woman was held down by the father of her child as his new girlfriend stabbed the woman multiple times in front of the former couple’s infant, authorities said Tuesday.

Samia Jones, 17, pleaded not guilty to charges including armed assault with intent to murder during her arraignment in Dorchester District Court on Tuesday. She was ordered held on $50,000 cash bail.

Police and the district attorney’s office said the victim, who was not identified by authorities, was lured out of her home Monday afternoon to an area near the Savin Hill MBTA station by her 17-year-old former boyfriend, who is the father of their 8-month-old child. The man told the woman that he had a new pair of shoes he wanted to give the child.

The woman was pushing the child in a stroller near 15 Midland St., when the father set upon her and held her down while Jones allegedly stabbed her. The woman suffered injuries to her back, leg, face and torso. She is in stable condition, authorities said. The infant was not hurt.

Jones and the boyfriend fled, but police were able to secure warrants for the duo during their investigation. Jones, who police said has a baby with the man, was arrested at her home. The boyfriend has not been found, but police have a warrant for his arrest.

The woman was stabbed six times with a 10 to 12-inch butcher knife, according to the Globe.

Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley called the incident “deeply, deeply disturbing.”
