[VIDEO] Esplanade to get cute and spooky with pooch parade

Dozens of Hub hounds will likely be cringing with discomfort this Saturday as their proud owners parade them around in Halloween costumes at the second annual Canine Promenade at the Charles River Esplanade.

The half-mile parade is meant to raise awareness about park improvement, and offer animal lovers a chance to fawn over the day’s cutest canine costumes.

There will be prizes given out to the pets with the best costumes, and treats provided by Pawsh Dog Boutique & Salon, which is sponsoring the event along with The Esplanade Association.

There will also be disc throwing, and “doggie massage” demonstrations.

There is a cost of $10 per dog to participate, however the money goes toward restoring the park, including the Lotta Fountain, according to organizers.
