Police released surveillance video Thursday showing a suspect who robbed a 74-year-old man April 1 in Hawthorne.
The senior was purchasing a money order for $452 around 11 a.m. at United Check Cashing, 628 S. Broad St.
On the video, the suspect is seen entering the store and then walking back outside. The suspect followed the elderly man after he exited the store.
As the victim walked along the 1500 block of Fitzwater Street, the suspect grabbed him in a choke hold and took his money order. The suspect fled the area east on Fitzwater Street toward Broad Street.
The suspect is described as a black man, wearing a blue-and-white jacket with white stripes on the sleeve.
