A wake was held Sunday night for the 25-year-old Queens man who was shot and killed at his workplace in East Garden City last week.
Police are still searching for the alleged gunman, Sang Ho Kim, 63, after he opened fire inside the lighting fixture company located at 645 South Street on Wednesday.
Zachariah Yong Jae Shin of Whitestone was killed, and the company’s president, John Choi, was critically injured, according to news reports.
Mourners gathered at a Flushing funeral home Sunday night to remember Shin.
The motive of the shooting is not clear, but Kim was a former vendor who had done business with the company, authorities said.
Choi’s wife told CBS News that Kim believed that the company owed him money, but that it did not.
Police found Kim’s white Honda Pilot abandoned in Sandy Beach Park in Putnam County, about 50 miles north of the city, late Wednesday night.
Though police are working under the assumption that the suspect is armed and at large, authorities have not ruled out the possibility that he may have killed himself, CBS reported.
Kim’s sister reportedly received a message shortly before the shooting suggesting that he may commit suicide.
