All weekend PATH train service will be shut down between World Trade Center station in lower Manhattan and Exchange Place station in Jersey City for the rest of the year beginning next week.
The shutdown, which will commence Feb. 14, will allow the Port Authority to advance signal systems, security and conduct Superstorm Sandy repair and resiliency work.
Major holiday travel weekends will be excluded from the shutdown.
News of the shutdown gained attention Thursday after an article was published in the Wall Street Journal.
Impacts to the system are outlined by the Port Authority here.
