An 83-year-old Cinnaminson, N.J. man has been charged with stabbing his wife to death inside their home, according to Cinnaminson Patch.

William Coggins has been charged with murdering his wife Laura Coggins, 81. Her body had been discovered on Nov. 4 by her husband’s brother in the bathroom of their home in an Westfield Leas, an over-55 community in the quiet Burlington County town.

Cinnaminson Police last week found Laura Coggins with stab and slash wounds to her body. She was fully clothed. They also found William Coggins with self-inflicted lacerations on his arm and stab wounds to his torso, Patch reported.

William Coggins had been taken to the hospital for treatment but was released.

This is the second murder in just about a month in the Cinnaminson/Riverton/Palmyra triboro area of Burlington County. An Ohio woman was found shot to death on the streets of Riverton, about a block from the Delaware River, on Oct. 13.

His bail has been set at $500,000. He has been sent to a medical facility for psychiatric evaluation. A court appearance will be scheduled.
