A 73-year-old woman was one of three people arrested Friday during a narcotics bust in Millsboro.
Delaware State Police said the raid resulted from a three-month-long investigation into an alleged heroin and cocaine sales and distribution ring operated from a home on the 27000 block of Willow Lane.
Agents with the Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit, Special Operations Response Team and Governor's Task Force on Friday served a warrant at the residence.
Officers allegedly recovered from the property 1,028 bags of heroin totaling 25.7 grams, whose street value was estimated to be $10,000, and 14.45 grams of powdered cocaine with an estimated street value of $500.
Authorities said they also found digital scales believed to have been used to weigh drugs, hypodermic needles and $8,127 in cash proceeds from suspected street level drug transactions.
Officers took into custody Shannon Irving, 25, Rolando Ruiz, 41, and Ruiz's mother, Margita Ruiz, 73.
Irving was charged with two counts of drug paraphernalia possession.
She was issued a criminal summons and released pending arraignment.
Rolando Ruiz was charged with heroin and cocaine possession, the possession of heroin and cocaine with the intent to deliver, and three counts of drug paraphernalia possession.
He was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $94,000 cash bond.
Margarita Ruiz was charged with heroin and cocaine possession, the possession of heroin and cocaine with the intent to deliver, drug paraphernalia possession, maintaining a drug property, and second-degree conspiracy.
She was released after posting $20,000 cash bond.
Troopers said the investigation into the alleged drug ring is ongoing.
