Authorities are investigating an attack on a woman who was walking along the Esplanade over the weekend.
The 25-year-old woman was walking near the lagoon area of the Esplanade at about 2:50 a.m. Saturday when a man approached her and pushed her to the ground, state police said.
Several passersby scared the man off and he fled. The woman was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for minor injuries.
Police said the victim described the attacker as a white or Hispanic bald man who was about 5 feet 7 inches or 5 feet 8 inches tall.
State police said the description is different from that of a man suspected in a series of attacks on women along the Esplanade in recent years.
Police are investigating. Anyone with information can call 617-727-6780.
