A pregnant woman tried to hail a cab to get to the hospital on Monday afternoon, but the baby just wouldn’t wait.
The unidentified woman ended up giving birth on an Upper East Side street corner, fire department officials said.
Emergency responders reachedThird Avenue at 68th Street just before 4 p.m., where they found the woman lying in a crosswalk being attended by passersby. She had already given birth.
The mother and baby were transported to Lenox Hill Hospital, FDNY said.
