Cambridge police issued an advisory on Wednesday after a woman reported being indecently assaulted while walking along a path.

The woman told police she was walking along the path near Concord Avenue and Fresh Pond at about 8 p.m. Tuesday when a man on a bicycle was riding toward her and staring at her in a way that made her uncomfortable.

The man passed the woman, but she heard him turn around on his bike and begin coming toward her from behind. As he passed her the second time he indecently touched her, police said. The woman noticed that the man was now wearing a black ski mask.

Police said the woman began running toward Concord Avenue. She turned around and noticed the man had fallen off of his bike before fleeing in another direction.

Police described the suspect as a white man, between 20 and 25 years old and he as riding a black sport type BMX bicycle that was not a mountain bike.
