A Danvers man will face a judge today for allegedly kidnapping a Malden woman from her home and then leading police on a pursuit on the Mass Pike.

Authorities said that Nathaniel Hudon, 31, had a previous relationship with the unidentified 42-year-old woman who was taken from her home about 5:45 a.m. Saturday.

Hudon took he door handles off of the inside of the Chevy Avalanche so the woman couldn’t get out, authorities said.

When Hudon stopped at the Westborough service area to get gas, the woman was able to kick out a window and borrow a cell phone to alert police. That’s when Hudon fled.

State police caught up with him on the Pike near Grafton and he eventually crashed at the Charlton service plaza.

He fled around the building and used a ladder to climb onto the roof of the service area, where he was eventually arrested.

He was charged with various offenses including kidnapping and driving under the influence.
