A woman tried to use a stamp collection as payment for killing her husband — but the hitman was really an undercover investigator, the NYPD reported.
Yesterday, 57-year-old Elena Adams met with the investigator in a car in Sheepshead Bay, police said, to discuss having her husband killed.
She reportedly told the investigator she and her husband would have lunch on Sunday at a restaurant near Avenue Z and East 11th Street.
After lunch, they would cross Avenue Z at the intersection with 11th Street, where she wanted him to be hit by a car, cops said. The car was to flee the scene.
Cops said Adams gave the investigator a picture of her husband, a stamp collection valued at $60,000 and jewelry.
Police arrested Adams as soon as she got out of the car at Sheepshead Bay Road and East 16th Street. She was charged with conspiracy and criminal solicitation.
