Last weekend, Kanye West caused a light riot outside Webster Hall when a hoard of fans flooded the streets for his impromptu show, forcing him to cancel the performance altogether. West's wife, Kim Kardashian, used Snapchat to document West's attempts to reach NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and request a public block party. To the disappointment of thousands of New Yorkers, the two were unable to connect that night — most likely because it was around 2 o'clock in the morning.

But based on de Blasio's Twitter, it looks like not all hope is lost.

The day after the show's cancellation, de Blasio took to social media to issue a response to West and his wife. ".@kanyewest @kimkardashian Great block parties are planned. @Chirlane [de Blasio's wife] & I can throw one w/ you to benefit NYC kids." the tweet reads.

Though no formal planning has taken place yet, we're hoping to make #KanyeForKids a trending hashtag so that we can make this block party happen ASAP.
