A woman was arrested after a disagreement about a cellphone password resulted in a stabbing that left one man dead.

Police took Laura Montanez, 21, into custody around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday after authorities were called to 311 E. 188th St. in the Bronx after receiving reports of a stabbing, according to Pix11.

Investigators said that Montanez fatally stabbed Kedwin Valerio, 25, in her Fordham Heights apartment after the two began arguing over the password to her cellphone, the New York Daily News added. Violence began when she refused to give up the password, police said.

Valerio was found by police at the location with a stab wound to his chest, Pix11 added. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"The girlfriend and boyfriend were always fighting, every day," neighbor Betty Perez was quoted by the Daily News in a separate report.

At the scene, police arrested Montanez, who has been charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession, the Daily News added.
