Brooklyn man struck and killed by own truck after robbery

Police in Brooklyn have identified a man they say was struck and killed by his own truck after a carjacker stole it from him on Monday.

Phillip Dellegrazia, 63, of 73rd Street in Brooklyn died Monday morning following a confrontation with an unknown suspect, police said in a news release.

Police believe the suspect drove off with Dellegrazia’s flatbed truck Monday morning, and that the victim followed him in another vehicle to 709 4th Ave.

When Dellegrazia left his vehicle and approached the suspect, the victim “fell to the ground and was struck by the flatbed truck,” police said.

The suspect then drove away before abandoning the truck on 22nd Street between 5th and 4th avenues, according to police.
