New Yorkers got to know their mayor a little better on Thursday afternoon.

In a through afternoon interview with WBLS 107.5 FM’s Shaila Scott, Mayor Bill de Blasio divulged his culinary specialty, his favorite R&B song and his undergarment of choice.

“Briefs,” de Blasio admitted on air. “You know, that’s classic.”

“You’ll be happy to know that you and Mayor Bloomberg both wear briefs,” Scott added.

“Well, I see we can agree on something for sure,” the mayor quipped.

The rapid fire question-and-answer session also revealed his penchant for Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much,” which came out when de Blasio was in student government at New York University.

His best dish? Scrambled eggs.

Asked about his scent of choice, de Blasio said he used to wear a 1987 cologne called Iquitos that is described online as a “luxurious woody mossy fragrance” with “hints of citrus” and “recommended for romantic wear.”

De Blasio also repeated his support for his hometown baseball team.

“If you could be an athlete, what sport would you play and what team would you play for?” Scott asked.

“Baseball. My beloved team of my youth, the Boston Red Sox. I cannot tell a lie,” he said to a dumbfounded Scott.

“Yes,” he confirmed. “People know this about me. I cannot tell a lie.”
