The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information about a disturbing case of animal cruelty discovered in Long Island Saturday.

Police said this German Shepherd was found on Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst, with its mouth held shut by duct tape.

“To leave this dog unable to eat or drink, abandoned and frightened on a busy road is heartbreaking,” Roy Gross, who runs the Suffolk County SPCA, said in a statement.

The dog was picked up by the Babylon Animal Shelter.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. Tipsters can remain confidential.
