There’s been a lot of ugliness in the sports world in the past month. Peyton Manning’s alleged assault of a Tennessee trainer was brought to light in mid-February. Tuesday morning we had the disgusting court story that Marriott hotels believes it doesn’t bare responsibility for that creep who videotaped sportscaster Erin Andrews nude through one of their hotel peepholes, from another room, because Andrews’ career took after the incident. Basically, Marriott argued that the incident actually helped Andrews get endorsements, so it all worked out for her in the end. Gross.

And Tuesday afternoon we had to endure more Aroldis Chapman girlfriend abuse chatter. The Yankees closer was suspended 30 games by MLB for inappropriate conduct.

For those who may have forgotten, Chapman is alleged to have choked Christina Barnea. Reports said he also pushed his girlfriend up against a wall before firing eight gunshots inside of his garage.

Thirty games is about the amount of time people expected for Chapman’s punishment. But being a pitcher, it’s really only really seven or eight games.

This story will be forgotten about by tomorrow. Just like the Manning story has already faded away.

Here’s hoping the rest of the month of March features less of this garbage.
