The NYPD has arrested the boyfriend of a slain Bronx woman in connection with her death.
Jasmine Gonzalez, 22, was found stabbed to death with multiple wounds to her torso in Bronx River Park just before 6 a.m. on July 5. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested Khiry Borden, Gonzalez’s ex-boyfriend, according to numerous outlets, on Sunday night. The 25-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Gonzalez and Borden had been dating off and on since high school and were parents to a two-year-old boy, the New York Times reported.
Relatives told the Daily News that Borden went back to Gonzalez’s home on East 225th Street after fatally stabbing her and changed out of his bloody clothes. Family members said police found a backpack with a bloody pair of jeans and towel, and an empty package of kitchen knives inside.
