Haagen-Dazs is kicking off ice cream season with its annual free cone day on May 10.
Its stores are giving customers a kiddie-sized scoop of its "rich and velvety" ice cream in either a sugar cone, cake cone or a cup. There is a limit of one per customer.
Dawn Uremovich, president of the Haagen-Dazs Shoppe Company, said that the ice cream shop gave out more than 280,000 free scoops last year.
This year, Haagen-Dazs is introducing two new flavors in celebration. According to the Huffington Post, customers can get a scoop of either banana rum jam or chocolate caramelized oat ice cream with their free cone. These new flavors are in collaboration with Haagen-Dazs and food artisans in San Francisco and Brooklyn.
Stop by any participating store from 4 to 8 p.m. to get your free cone. You can visit the Haagen-Dazs website to find one near you.
