Both New York teams checked in on several Pro Days on Friday, the New York Giants and New York Jets racking up plenty of frequent flyer miles in what has been a very busy year in terms of talent evaluation.

Sources say that the Jets sent two representatives to the Oregon State Pro Day on Friday in Ian Shields and Jeff Hammerschmidt, the special teams assistant coach. The last is an interesting nugget given that wide receiver Victor Boldin worked out on Friday and is considered one of the top kick returners in this draft class.

The Giants had one of their college scouts, Jeremy Breit, at Oregon State and they also were scouting Friday’s Pro Day at Arizona State as well.

Both teams had a scout at Old Dominion on Friday, presumably to check-in on wide receiver Zach Pascal and defensive tackle Rashaad Coward, two players who definitely will be in camps this August and have great shots to stick in the league.

Johnathon Stigall from the Jets was present at the Western Michigan Pro Day, turf he knows well from previous visits when he was a scout with the Cleveland Browns. The Broncos were 13-1, their lone loss a tight one to Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl.

Sources tell Metro that the Giants, Jets both had multiples scouts at Oregon’s Pro Day on Friday where Pharaoh Brown, one of the top tight ends in the NFL Draft, had a solid showing that enhanced his draft stock.
