Pollina said the most snow the city will likely see is 0.7 inches.
The New York City Department of Sanitation has issued a snow alert that will start at 8 a.m. to prepare equipment and workers for potential snowfall.
Temperatures will be in the mid-30s, and significantly drop Friday, with highs expected in the teens.
Friday will be dry, and light snow could fall Saturday night into early Sunday.
Pollina said 20.2 inches of snow have been recorded in Central Park for the 2014-2015 winter. The seasonal average is 25.1 inches.
Alternate side parking and garbage pickup were in effect as of press time, and no changes to MTA schedules were expected.
