A 20-year-old woman is in serious but stable condition after she was pinned under a two-and-a-half ton tree for two hours that fell into her second-story bedroom in Long Island, authorities said.

The woman was sleeping when the tree fell and was trapped by the tree and debris. Emergency responders showed up to the home on Wooleys Lane East in Great Neck at 12:04 a.m. and used hydraulic lifts to hoist the tree and free her.

She was taken to North Shore Medical for traumatic injuries and was listed in serious but stable condition.

Fire officials are unsure what caused the tree to fall but know it was not weather-related.
