Police arrested a Lower East Side man after he was allegedly caught on video having sex with his girlfriend’s dog.

On Wednesday, Jesus Gutierrez, 39, was charged with torturing an animal and sexual conduct with an animal in connection to allegations that he was recorded engaging in sex acts with Princess, his girlfriend’s pet Maltese, the New York Daily News reported.

Prosecutors claimed the sexual assault lasted for 30 minutes and that the dog was apparently distressed during the incident, the Daily News added.

The camera that captured the scene was left running by Gutierrez’s girlfriend, though it was not clear why she decided to set up the recording device, the Daily Mail stated in a related article.

“He’s a father to six children and a hardworking man,” Gutierrez’s lawyer, Jack G. Goldberg, was quoted by the Daily News, adding that he had not seen the video.

After being charged, Gutierrez was released on his own recognizance on Thursday, the Daily Mail added.
