A man was decapitated by the L train during rush hour on Wednesday, authorities said.

A preliminary investigation indicates the man climbed onto the tracks, laid down on the tracks and was decapitated by an oncoming train at Halsey Station in Brooklyn, an NYPD spokesman said.

The incident took place at 5:25 p.m. at the station on Wyckoff Avenue and Eldert Street.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is under investigation, NYPD said.

L train service was been suspended in both directions between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues and Atlantic Avenue, according to MTA.
