An early morning fire at a Bronx apartment Sunday claimed the life of one man, according to police.
Authorities responded to a call of a fire at 2:41 a.m. on the third floor at 655 E. 230 St. Upon extinguishing the blaze, FDNY officials discovered 36-year-old James Turtein having a heart attack inside his apartment, cops said.
Emergency personnel transported Turtein to Montefiore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Fire Marshals determined the fire was suspicious, officials said.
According to the New York Post, three other people suffered minor injuries and were also taken to Montefiore Hospital for treatment. The American Red Cross was helping five individuals were displaced from their homes due to the electrical fire.
