Two things not allowed in baseball: crying and breast pumps. The first Tom Hanks’ character in “A League of Their Own” taught us. The latter came from the lips of WFAN host Mike Francesa.
On Monday, Francesa talked about the plans to refurbish Yankee Stadium. The $20 million facelift will include a special section for nursing mothers, according to the franchise.
“I was wondering where those mothers could go during the games, so now that we have chairs with special breast pumps, we’ve got that covered,” he said with sarcasm.
“Where do you go if you’re nursing during the game?” he added. “Is this the mall or Yankee Stadium?”
The plans also include five sponsored restaurants, a 2,850-square-foot playground shaped like a mini baseball field called The Sunrun Kids Clubhouse and seven areas for game attendees to mingle — an addition which also did not sit well with the announcer.
