Two things not allowed in baseball: crying and breast pumps. The first Tom Hanks’ character in “A League of Their Own” taught us. The latter came from the lips of WFAN host Mike Francesa.
On Monday, Francesa talked about the plans to refurbish Yankee Stadium. The $20 million facelift will include a special section for nursing mothers, according to the franchise. “I was wondering where those mothers could go during the games, so now that we have chairs with special breast pumps, we’ve got that covered,” he said with sarcasm.
“Where do you go if you’re nursing during the game?” he added. “Is this the mall or Yankee Stadium?”
The plans also include five sponsored restaurants, a 2,850-square-foot playground shaped like a mini baseball field called The Sunrun Kids Clubhouse and seven areas for game attendees to mingle — an addition which also did not sit well with the announcer.

“Isn’t there a game going on during this?” Francesa complained. “Is this Match.com or is this the Yankees?”
The Yankees-themed playground will have additional private areas for nursing mothers with arm chairs and televisions so they don’t miss the game.
“We want our youngest fans to feel as if Yankee Stadium is an extension of their local park or backyard,” Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner said,according to the team’s website. “The Sunrun Kids Clubhouse is designed to nurture their love for experiencing games in person, while providing parents the resources they need to keep their children entertained prior to and during the game.” “What that has to do with baseball, I have absolutely no idea,” Francesa said before tossing it to a commercial.
