Good news, Chinese food lovers! Santa came early to return one of the city’s beloved spots to us.

Mission Chinese Food is back in business at 171 E. Broadway. Chef Danny Bowien made the announcement on Instagram with the dramatic photo above. The restaurant has been officially closed for about a year after its old Lower East Side digs were shut down. It operated as a pop-up out of Brooklyn at Frankie’s Spuntino, but now it has a space to call its own again (with beer, wine and a full liquor bar).

Zagat has the 10 essential facts (pizza oven! prime rib carved tableside!), and for those of you “celebrating” on Christmas Day with Chinese food and a movie, there will be lunch service (12-5 p.m.), and for dinner they’ve partnered with Russ & Daughters Cafe (127 Orchard St.) to hostA Very Lower East Side Jewish Christmas at 6 p.m.
