More signs of new activity at Fulton Center as Zaro’s signage goes up

Signage for Zaro’s Bakery has been installed in Fulton Center as the transit hub gears up to open retail shops in 2016.

The New York City-based bakery has multiple locations in Grand Central and Penn Station. The company previously announced plans to open in the new year.

Metro reported earlier this week that the $1.4 billion transit hub, which connects nine subway lines and opened in November 2014, is showing signs of retail life after a year of nearly-empty 66,000 square feet of retail space.

The first kiosk, Men’s Bar, closed on Wednesday. Organic popcorn shop Pop Karma is finishing construction, owner Jean Tsai told Metro, and expected to open in the near future.
