NYC’s best sports bars for baseball fans

Baseball season begins on Monday —here’s where to pull up a bar stoolfor all the action.

The TVs are spaced about 10 feet apart behind the long bar so you won’t miss a thing, while the attentive bartenders will keep you topped off between innings. Keg & Lantern

The 32 beers on tap are all served imperial style (20 oz.) at the classic indoor sports bar and airy outdoor patio with picnic benches. The menu also shows that Greenpoint’s sports crowd demands more than ambiguous fried things, with options like short rib and cheddar fries and a quinoa veggie burger in addition to the usual pub fare. 95 Nassau Ave., Brooklyn

Mulholland’s

It’s got a fireplace, but that doesn’t mean this Williamsburg bar thinks its crowd wants to talk philosophy over its beers. A dozen TVs, cheap drinks and the combo of buffalo wings and waffle fries will make for a well-spent afternoon. 312 Grand St., Brooklyn

Foley’s

If the game is baseball, this is the place. Stacks of jerseys, signed balls and bobble heads cover everything; the waitresses are on point and the crowd is friendly even when packed in for a game. (A credit to the Irish staff?) Their huge beer selection has lots of local and craft brews, in sizes from a half pint (10 oz.) to a “personal pitcher” (32 oz.). 18 W. 33rd St.

Blondies

The two-for-one Monday-Friday drink special should come in handy, and best enjoyed washing down some of the city’s best buffalo wings. Expect a full house on game day, but plenty of seating makes this Upper West Side spot a great option for not ending the night with sore feet and wasting half the game trying to catch the bartender’s eye.212 W. 79th St.
